More Wheat Bread

002 Another day, another Wheat Bread recipe.



Ingredients:

  • 1 & 1/2 cups very warm water 
  • 1 tablespoon dry yeast 
  • 2 tablespoons honey 
  • 1 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 2 cups whole wheat flour 
  • 2 cups unbleached all-purpose flour 
Directions:
  • Dissolve yeast in water in a large bowl (or mixer bowl)
  • Add honey, salt, and both flours 
  • Using the bread hook attachment mix 
  • Once a ball forms knead for 3 minutes 
  • Place ball in a well oiled glass bowl 
  • Cover bowl with tin foil
  • Heat oven to broil for 2 minutes - turn off oven
  • Place bowl into oven and let rise for an hour and a half 
  • Punch down 
  • Form into a loaf 
  • Place on a greased pizza stone
  • Let rise for 15 minutes 
  • Bake at 400 degrees for 15 to 20 minutes until golden brown
