Day two began in Vegas. Hot and heavy and not in a good way.
We headed out of Vegas at 6:30 am on the road to Arizona.
Here are some random (out the car window) photos.
About half-way through the state I had the unfortunate honor of hitting a semi-truck's drive shaft

Here is our view while we waited for the tow truck
And it bent two of the rims on my car
Photos of damage.
Then Alex and I spent the next several hours in a very, very small town tow yard office.
Luckily they just so happened to have rims for out car in their tow yard and someone down the way had tires that fit. Thus we didn't have to spend the night or several nights in this out in the middle of no where town.
However, this incident set us back a day
We didn't arrive in Santa fe, NM until after 10 p.m. (local time, Cali time 9:00 p.m.) that evening and the thought of getting up at 5 in the morning gave me anxiety.
So we decided to take a respite and not drive for a day.
Here is the Route we took.
About an hour outside of Flagstaff was where we had our incident!
Oh no!!!! I hate it when that happens.
ReplyDeleteSuch rotten luck!
