Waltz On By Wednesday

In an attempt to garner more "follows" I've signed up for this week's Waltz On By Wednesday hosted by Home Sweet Farm. I'm excited to find new blogs to add to my ever growing blog roll and maybe to make some new friends. It's quite a new concept for me since all my social networking friends are people I know "in real life". My husband has several internet friends and I thought maybe I should too.

In other news, today's project is a fruit tart for a co-worker's birthday on Thursday. I have never made one of these before, well to be honest I'm a noob when it comes to all this cooking and baking stuff. Until this year I had only made baklava. I make a mean baklava, but that is besides the point. Then last year I watched "Julie and Julia", and hello inspiration. I started a blog (not this one), but still no additional cooking or baking in my house. It was not until going to the after Christmas sale at the bookstore and seeing that the two volume set of Mastering the Art of French Cooking was half off. I snatch it up and have been slowly cooking my way through it ever since. Now I seek out a new recipe to try almost every night. Meals in my house have forever changed.
