After leaving the visitors center we climbed back into the car armed with a map and we drove around visiting key historical sights.
The one thing that struck me the most was the sheer number of monuments like this one dotting the country side.
Alex said this looked like a good place to stop and get out to look around. He ran up (most of the way) the tower. I climbed it slowly.
